I DNF'ed last week as I didn't get in the long bike last weekend as we were out of town for a race.

I DNF'ed or will DNF the swim this week as I haven't swam once and really can't see a 3:30 swim session this weekend when I go to Brunswick to get in my 1:30 swim.

They have closed the pool here and the closest pool is a town 30 miles away. No biggie except when I went over to swim on Tuesday the Life Guard never showed up to open the pool so I ran 1:00. Going to B'wick this weekend as the college pool 30 miles from here is not open to the public on weekends?!?!

Sooo... 2 DNF's and IM out of the TdA this year.

IM bummed. I was going to toast you guys!

But IM stilll...

Iron Annie... you have done a great job. The local pool issue here... Y pool closed til Late Oct... has kinda screwed up my swim training. I will get it in but am having to be creative at the moment.

Thanks,

Hey everyone....

Since the page was done and I was in Virginia I did not get to log my totals for week 3 of Tour De Arnage, so....

Swim - completed: 3:55
Bike -  DNF, was only able to get 2 hours
Run - completed: 4:10

Week 4
Run - completed

Oh hey!?!?? IM NOT outta the TdA yet! IM allowed 2 DNF's!

OK... So... IM still here.

Now... does a Vasa Trainer or a Halo dry swim trainer count. It will have to unless I can figure out how to get to a pool more than twice a week. I've been looking at them on EBay, and the net. Doesn't do much for the "feel" of the water and form but they do seem to be good for muscle specific training. Like a Spin bike.

Good morning Arnge World,

Was able to finish up week 4 of Tour De Arnage swim this morning.  Looks like the last of the bike leg will have to be on the trainer with Fay closing in.

Allen - I'm glad you are still in the "game".

Have a great weekend.

Although I am listed as "Race Director" this year I have turned over those duties to IronAnnie. Nonetheless, I believe I can answer Allen's (aka lanterne pink - for this year) question:

Week 3 or  4??

That "other Tour" ended on July 27, 2008.
The Td'A begins the next day Monday July 28, 2008
So I believe

Week 1: July 28 - August 3
Week 2: August 4 - August 10
Week 3: August 11 - August 17
Week 4: August 18 - August 24
Week 5: August 25 - Auugust 31

For the record, I completed Week 1, dnf'd Weeks 2 and 3 and have completed Week 4 and am now working on Week 5.

Hi all! Welll... as I've mentioned on the IMF chat page... I have missed another weeks hours due to illness and that it just isn't matching up with my training plan that I have pledged to follow to myself and Pink this year.

In the past I have done my training plan plus the TdA. Sooo... this year IM focussing on the plan. I have no idea if it is going to help achieve my goal... PR IMF. I don't feel like IM either doing enough or am not doing it intensely enough. Like IM really NOT tired after a 8 hour workout. Nevertheless... IM going to complete this experiment in trusting a coach and the plan.

Here are my weekly hours anyway;
swim 2:15
bike 4:05
run 3:36

IM not sure what the weekly hours are supposed to be. So... looks like IM out of the TdA 08 again. I may continue to post hours. I like the whole concept in spite of my conflicts.

Good luck all,
Carpe Diem
