I hear you...it sure can be hard to stay motivated out there.

Let the truth be told...I couldn't wake up for my work out this a.m. and I don't feel bad about it. I really needed the sleep. Tomorrow is another day.

CityGirl,
I'm racin next to you in September. Need to drop a little weight and get motivated to train again. This will be IM #6 for me. I have a program I follow however, I'm interested in something new. The Markets and youth football and now youth basketball coaching have taken their toll this year. I need to Focus So,. Will check out your program.

Hi Focus...I was going to follow the program in Don Fink's book, "be Iron fit". They have a beginner, intermediate, and competitive version. I was going to do the intermediate and add in some weight training. In the past, I noticed that weight training really helped my speed.

I followed that program one other year but couldn't compete in that IM because of work/life conflicts. I did feel pretty good then so I thought I would give it a go this year. I have focused on building a real solid base up til now so I am at their minimum distances to start right away. We'll see, right? I will let you know come September how its working out. :)

Any thoughts? opinions?

#535: Sorry Focus, looked like both toes were down to me. Even though I was rooting for the Cards. I've watched enough toe dragging through Junior's wrestling career to know. Gotta keep 'em in to score the takedown on the way off the mat.

Definitely an all-Pro play.

As for the market and the Messiah, I'm not sure I want to know.... I think at this point the government has emptied the clip and ought to just wait it out, other than maybe supporting the state's unemployment bennies. Changing the rules of the game every other day only increases uncertainty and drags things out.

Oh yeah, putting Daschle, Dodd, Geitner, and Franks in jail might help.

Well now...the nude mile. That is impressive. If I did that in 1973, it would've taken me all this time just to recover from it all.

As far as dogs, coffee, and IMoo go...I think I'll fit right in. Can't start my day with out a big cup o' Joe, a walk with my dog or a workout! This is the page for me.

The forecast here in Chicago is FA-REE-ZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome citygirl, to the Moo page.

As a point of reference, in addition to caring deeply for everything relating to the best IM venue in the world, this corner of the 141 family of pages spends a lot of time on dogs and coffee.

I've occasionally thought about the plunge, but not very hard. Back in the day, me and my dad would go diving in lake Geneva in March to retreive boat moorings for our friends. Also, I've been skinny dipping in Big Sur streams while snow was falling (a long time ago). I still hold a school record for the nude mile - set in the suburbs of Chicago in February of 1973.

Anyway, enough of that. There hasn't been much activity here lately, because we're all holding our breath waiting for Focus' 2009 financial forecast, and the return of Tina to the page.

Hello and Happy 2009, everyone!

I started my training year off with a veeery cold jump into Lake Michigan to join the ranks of the Polar Bear Club on Jan. 1st!!! Who knew it would be WAY worse coming out than going in?! I didn't.

By the end of the day we thawed off and even talked about next year. Sort of like the IM...you forget the agony and remember the amazing experience! Here's to a fabulous training and racing year!

SOOOO, since this is the financial page and you peeps that know stuff about stuff. I was thinking as I was watching the hearings for the car bailout. Can Ford ethically take billions of $ in bailout and justify sponsoring our little sport? GM cut Tiger and he is a bigger star than any of our top stars. Any idea who the next title sponsor of our IMs would be? IMUSA was Isuzu, Canada was Subaru. Just thinking . . . .

Now is a great time to get into the stock market. When everyone cashes in it just makes things worse.

It's been down before and will be again, so if you have more than 5 years before retirement, I say jump in. 5 years from now you will be glad you did.

Hey Bullet,
Happy Thanksgiving!

Formula has treated me well since I started in this business in 1983. We survived 87, 98, '01, and we will survive this too. We won't pick bottom, however we will be able abserve the turn and enter market with confidence. OR we can wait for next baby boom.

The Other correlation to be aware of is markets usually challenge the yearly Focus Point value early in the year. So we are expecting a move towards the 9,687ish area between now and yearend. If that helps.
