#80 Bama Tri Guy Subject: $2,500.00 Voucher
Bruce.Gennari@WebMD.net
All,
Recently my teammates and I won the DeSoto American Triple T (DATT) in Portsmouth, Ohio. For winning the event each team member received a $2,500.00 voucher to spend at a bike shop in Ohio called Wheelie Fun. The shop is run by a real good guy whose name is Bob Duncan. Bob has indicated that the voucher can be used on the purchase of a bike frame, fork and/or wheels. Now, I need a new bike and/or wheels like a hole in the head. So, what I would like to do is sell the voucher for $2,000.00. Hey, that's a free and easy $500.00 for one lucky person. If you are interested just email me at Bruce.Gennari@WebMD.net or call me at (800) 735 - 8254, ext. 50105. Thanks, Bruce Gennari |

PUREFIT ROCKS!!! I JUST CAME FROM WORKING THE BOOTH AT THE CARLSBAD TRI EXPO!!!!!!!
You wouldn't believe the number of people that came up just to tell Robb how much they love his bars. ROBB'S THE BEST!!!! |

#75 Kirk Subject: Sponsor correction
webmaster@mile141.com
I made a mistake - Robb Dorf of PureFit does give me free bars for his ad. He's a super nice guy and I think they are the best-working and highest quality ingredient bars on the market. Like Calfee, TRI ALL 3 SPORTS, et al, I persued him because I already used the product and always want to link up with good people putting out quality items.
The management regrets any inconvenience this error has caused. |

Old news, buddy. Move on and buy a TV or something. The site will remain free to everyone, always. Period. You can buy me a brew after the race if we meet up at an Ironman somewhere. |

A controversy! I LOVE CONTROVERSY! I wanna know what kel (who is certainly NOT kelly from the imusa page) said. Clearly, she has some sort of psycho crush on tina, but I want quotes(ez yogi berra)... I want facts(ez, former "Facts Of Life" cast members)... I want FIGURES(ez, well-proportioned tri-hotties). I don't have a tv, so I can't watch survivor. This is all I got. Someone throw me a friggin' bone here!
By the by, kirk, if'n eye was ewe, I wouldn't be afeard of adding a little link to all the chat pages explaining the financial situmanation of these here pages, and saying how you do this out of the goodness of your heart and all that jazz. Butt then, you might add a little note at the end saying that if, mayhaps, some slacker, bandwidth-wasting, tri peeps want to contribute to the "more endurox for kirk" fund, they can send their hard-earned (HARD-EARNED? Who are we kidding? If they're posting even a FRACTION of the drivel I do, they're not really "earning" much, now are they?) ducates to one kirk t. webmeister, left coast, 90210. A couple bucks here, a few bucks there... It could add up. (And I don't think any of the regulars on any of the pages would be much offended at the thought of you being able to walk away with a little extra coin in your pocket(ez, pokemon).) |

IT WAS STEVE-O WHO GOT ME STARTED IN TRIATHLON!!! I met him when I was a marathoner and he was a marathoner too but was also doing triathlons when everyone was wearing tube socks and Brook Chariots!!!
In fact, I think he still wears that same pair of shoes... |
|
#59 Tina
I have a groupie??? COOL!!!!
|
|
#58 Steve-oH!
but the cool thing about this situation is that I get another chance to tell people some facts about TINA....
We met before she ever did her first Triathon...and she was a loyal friend..and I have watched her develop as an athlete the last few years though hard work...and she will be a friend if she decides not to do another one some day...I find her posts incredibly clever and witty....she has a great sense of humor...and she makes me laugh...if you mean "groupie" as in big fan, you are right.... I have many friends that I admire for various and different reasons...and none of them are perfect....but that is not a requirement for my life or the others in it... |
|
#57 Steve-oH!
Hey K is what you call a "troll", all chat pages have them!...
|
|
#56 Silverbullet
So what would be wrong with tri-pros having groupies?
How many old fat guys do you see wearing Urlacher jerseys? I would look kinda silly in a two piece speedo with an Edge logo on it though..... |
|
#55 Silverbullet
Kirk: I've had a tri all 3 case for several years. UPS hasn't destroyed it yet......
I make an effort to buy from people who support the sport through sponsorship of races, pages, pros, etc. whenever there is a choice to be made.... even if it costs a little more than going to non-sponsors. I make a special effort to buy from people who sponsor my favorite pros Guilt of not clicking on banners though... thanks for keeping it going. |
|
#54 K
Steve is what you might call a "Tina Groupie". all the pros have them!
|
|
#53 Steve-oH!
and besides that...she is totally HOT!
|
|
#52 Steve-oH!
FRED...thats what happens when you form an opinion and you dont have the facts...you get to be wrong...Thanks for what you have done for many people KIRK...
KEL...I know first hand that TINA is intelligent, passionate, and a talented triathlete that has turned in some great performances mainly due to her hard work ethic...she totally changed her life to pursue her passion and to see how good she could be in this arena...that takes courage....the last time I talked to her she had just put in a 28 hour training week...she is not into putting others down and your not the first one to try to ding her with some silly comments...it hasnt stopped her and it will not now...I've seen some people get angry because she sometimes honestly expresses when she is proud of her efforts and victories...this has more to say about the poster than it does TINA...she is also humble and admits when she has been disappointed...I wish nothing but the best for her....she has taught me alot and I consider her a valuable part of my story...I can remember times when when we had coffee and we were both doubled over laughing so hard we could not make a sound...usually it was about laughing at the absurdities of our own lives not about other people...and if the truth be known, I miss her....just thought you should know... |
|
#51 Jitters Subject: thanks Kirk
Kirk - I've had so much enjoyment from these chat pages.
Prior to last yr's IM race, I relied on the page for support, information and I received this and made friends too! I really like the new format which makes it easier to switch over to different chat sites - it just keeps on getting better Tina, thx for sharing your story with us. There are some really good people in this world! |
|
#50 Tina
You miss me already...don't ya Kirk...

#49 Tina
I met Kirk because of these pages...and he and his wife Kara ended up sponsoring me with a roof over my head for the past six months...that too was a not-for-profit cause
I'M IN MY NEW PLACE KIRK!!!!! A BIG HUGE THANKS TO YOU, KARA AND TUCKER THE DOG!!! |

#48 Kirk Subject: Sponsors
webmaster@mile141.com
Fred -
Those banners are now up for free, and I am indeed paying for this site. I opened up the site to sponsorship and got these good people to take a chance and buy some space. It just barely cleared my costs for a couple of months. However, not enough people clicked on the banners to make it worth even the small amount they paid for the space, so they have not renewed. I felt bad about taking any money at all and told them that I would leave them up for the year free to at least get them some more exposure. Calfee, PureFit, and TRI ALL 3 are incredible products and friends of mine so will always be on the site because I believe in them and want to promote them as much as I can. CAF is one of the best causes I can think of promoting and will always have a free spot on the site. This site is not a profit-making enterprise, it is here because I want it here. I believe it serves a valuable service to the sport. If I were doing it for financial gain, I would have shut it down a long time ago. Ever wonder why there aren't more triathlon chat sites? They're money pits. I'm not trolling for gratitude, I just want to make clear what is really going on. In lieu of thanks, I would request that all users of this site just try to maintain a certain degree of respect for the privilege and each other. This is supposed to be about fun and a positive, healthy lifestyle. Please leave the egos, bitterness, and general "everyone's out to screw me" paranoia at the door and relax with the nice people on the pages. I've heard countless stories of terrific friendships made because of this sport and facilitated by this site. THAT'S why it is still here and will remain as long as I can keep it here. Welcome all and enjoy! Kirk |
|
#47 Fred
Tina,
do you honestly think that Kirk pays for all this out of his own pocket? See all those sponsor banners at the top of the page?! and I'm guessing that the more you visit and post the more money he gets from those sponsors! |

Kel, KK, whomever you are...
I'm sorry if you feel I chat too much or laugh too much with all the friends I've made as a result of this page. (you should have seen how much I posted a year or so ago when I was working in a cubicle in a job I hated! Because of this page that Kirk pays for out of his own pocket just so we triathletes have a place to chat and get to know each other, I have found a coach (KP) who's taken me farther in the sport than I ever knew possible. Additionally, I've met so many friends throughout the WORLD because of this page. This page (these pages) literally changed the direction of my life...for the better, and I am a better person because of it. I hope you too can find happiness...these pages are a great place to start...lots of positive people shooting out positive vibes to everyone. Come join the fun But, please don't put anyone down because they irritate you in some personal way...there really is no benefit of voicing harsh words to others. Best of luck to you Tina |

Anyone ever raced Roth Quelle challenge? What is the beer mile all about? Is that true? I hear you can stay with locals. How's that work? Hello Mr. Fritz I'm here to do the challenge. Can I sleep in your spare room?
Are there any american groups going over for next year? I hear it's a pretty inexpensive race compared to other IM's which frees up your financials for the important stuff like beer and blackforest cuckoo clocks. Anyone? Please contact me if you are doing the race next year and speak english. Thanks. Maliki |
