#1602 Rod
We had a high of 38 degrees today. Of course, I had to be working on the river today. We pulled the floating docks, for the paddleboat, out of the water before the river freezes over. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. Docks were covered with ice which made it fun trying not to slide in the river. One of the guys ended up with his foot in the water. Very cold.

#1598 sc Subject: Tulsa Marathon
Mitch,
I did the marathon this weekend. I ran pretty good. (for me that is) I ended up running a 4:36:39. Not fast for a Marathoner but I was happy with the time after comming off IMF 2 weeks prior.... I ran with the 4:30:00 pace guys up until mile 22 and then we hit the hills. I ran the first few hills and then gave up on the 3rd or 4th hill we came to. Started to get light headed and sick to my stomach. walked the rest of the hills and ate pretzles and gatoraid. I still ran the flats and the downhill parts of the last 4 miles. Felt good about my time just upset that i didn't get under the 4:30:00 mark. |

#1595 Allen Subject: bbbrrrrrr
We did the Josef tonite.
WTF? It was 34 this AM. It was 40 on the way to the Y to run after work. It was almost dark so we decided to run the dreadmill... 800yd x 4 intervals on our plan w 6 miles ttl. Too chilly. 34 on the way home at 8pm. Forecast 27 tonite. We're only an hour north of Jax, Fl. It's kind of early for this? Pinks reply when ask if she was going to run outside was... not only no but... you know the rest. I like this weather but dreadmills suck. But at least we have them and can get the training in. D |

#1587 Debbie Subject: stuff
Muncie Endurathon -remember it well - hot, hot, hot. Great race though.
Law Dude my Mom has a cousin in Indy and my roommate has family in Kokomo area. We still send loads of Christmas cards to friends up in Indy but don’t get to travel back to the area much. Last time I was there was in 2003 for my Dad’s memorial service. A lot had changed probably wouldn’t recognize it now. Ok about the weather – this morning it is 47 and tonight it is to get into the 30s. This is crazy it is not supposed to be this cold until January or February. Yum, pecans, next week Thanksgiving, I’m doing the dinner this year. |

There you are!!! Now stop that!!! It's sposed to be 27 in the morning!??!?!?
This is NOT scooter weather at 45 mph. Although I have found that a scarf / muffler and a full face shield and gloves does make it bareable. I have the WWI fighter ace look. Even have Maltese crosses on me motorcycle helmet. A combo of "Fly Boys" and "Top Gun". D... Chavaliers de le ciel! |

Good morning everyone
Hope a great weekend was had by all! Entertained the inlaws to-be Saturday night with on of my favorites, pepper steak Started my 3 mary quest in 5 weeks (Jan-Feb) yesterday with a solid 15 mile run. Have to be somewhat careful not to overtrain and burnout at the same time with NO in April. I'm off to the pool |

#1576 Debbie Subject: Indiana
Law Dude are you in Indiana? My Dad went to Wabash. I graduated from Butler and got my masters at Indiana. Saw that Indy got a lot of rain – typical fall rain and cold. I moved to the South in 1990 can’t stand the cold.
This morning it’s 45 degrees. Sun will be up though and warm us up a little. |

#1575 Law Dude Subject: Football
It was mostly a good week for me, football wise. The Buckeyes won, Bama won, my Alma Mater won the Monon Bell Game, and the local Ball State Cardinals are still flying high. The only down side is our High School team lost its Regional game and is done for the year.
The college season is getting interesting now. End of the season rivalries and conference championship games could really turn things around. LD |

#1571 andrew Subject: coaching
andrew@breakawaymultisport.com
hi, all...as a multiple past competitor at ironman florida(1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, and signed up for 2009) and frequenter of this forum off and on for many years, some of you may recognize me and we may have met at past races.
i'd like to offer my services to those of you who may be interested in hiring a coach for next year. i currently have 5-6 openings and my wife karen can take 2-3 more athletes. check our website and/or email me for more info. as a bonus, mention the 'arnge page' and i will eliminate the initial set-up fee and offer level 2 service for level 1 rates. now is the time to consider a coaching service for next season to set an annual plan, target key events, and start setting goals. developing the off season base is a key factor in having a successful race season. for those of you who are not interested in hiring a coach, but would still like some assistance, i can offer a structured training plan specific to ironman florida for a flat fee and will also be frequenting this forum throughout the year with tips and advice for all. thanks for looking. |

Ahhh... football.
I was at UGA in the Glory years... National Champs. Go DAWGS! That was also when Ga Tech would only win 1 game per year... Bama. And Ga would smoke Fl. Names like Herschel Walker, etc. Enjoy the glory while yah can. It comes and goes... but my UGA diploma lives on. D |

#1565 Debbie Subject: Good morning
Good morning. Thanks.
A little groggy this morning and the reason you ask. Went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night out at UCF – WOW! They put on a terrific show, the music was fantastic and I have never been to a concert where the stage and the lights were as much a part of the show as the music. I highly recommend the concert if you ever get a chance to see. Long run today. What’s with the weather – yesterday morning 72 and humid this morning 52 and cold. No snow though. It’s true I hate cold weather. Have fun training today everyone. |

Hey everyone. I hope you are all enjoying your Port. Have no idea what kind of wine that is but I was in the Navy so I know about the ship part. I’m a non-drinker unless it is electrolyte stuff, green tea, vitamin water, Mountain Dew or whatever. I did pick up some TG Lee Low Fat Egg Nog today at the grocery but it will be no alcohol of course.
Today ran a 5k race out in Winter Garden it was a nice low key race a little over 300 runners. It was very fun finished 2nd in my age group. Still working on getting speed back in the legs ran 10 miles last Sunday so distance is back now just need the speed. Going to swim this afternoon – joined the 24 hour fitness that is close to work so I can swim indoors for the winter – even though in Florida the pool gets a little cool for swimming in the early morning or late evening during the dark months of December, January and February. Also got my bike back from the bike shop after the run and because the boys did an overhaul so it is sort of ready to start the new season. Have to get a new freehub body for the back wheel – guess I rode it to its demise. New cables, new handlebar tape, and new brake pads – I know it’s going to be fast. |
