Thanks for all the good wishes guys, its raining out right now, but pretty warm. Hopefully the rain slows/lets up by the time we are on the bike. Almost time to go put the rest of my stuff in transition.

Mizz I hope the weather clears up for you as well. Have a good run, enjoy it, the Ultra community is great.

Did a 1:30 (for me that should be about 5K) swim in our local lake followed by a 75 Mile bike. I feel remarkably well. OK a little cramp in my adductor while watching PSU kick Syracuses Bootay.

The question is - was there another 35 miles of riding and 26 miles of running left in the old body - I think there is already. We will see tomorrow when I do the 2 hour run on the Appalachian trail with my trail rat peeps.

got a heck of a sunburn on a gray, not so hot (82) humid (60%) day cool

Put me down for an entry in the RB Power pool, I'm thinking Tuesday at 2pm.

When Will RB Get Power?

$5.00 to play. Pick the date and time you think Ruth will get power back after Ike. "Get power back" is defined as steady power source for more than 12 hours. Ruth will be the judge of when that occurs. She's a lawyer, we can trust her.

Winner gets 25% of the pot. 75% of the pot goes to a storm related charity of RB's choosing.

Betting closes at midnight Sunday EST(gotta keep it open that long since Mizz and WJ are at ultras this weekend and the Canadians are racing out of town).

If she gets power back before midnight tomorrow, RB will tell us which charity she would have chosen and those of us with a soul will just send our $5.00 there.

Galveston is looking bad as the storm is starting to move ashore.

I'm near downtown Houston, about 40 miles away ... it's been overcast and a little windy, but no rain or high wind yet. Getting a few big gusts just in the last few minutes. It should start picking up in the next hour or so.

Cal for a few days if you'd like to anytime, but especially now with that storm looming. KB, I have a quiver of surfboards and the water temps have been in the low to mid 70's out here.

Well I'm back from Muskoka! I checked into the hotel, then went straight to the race directors assistant,(Janet Fraser ) asked if I could get my race kit this morning,( race kit pick up is at 2pm ) as I have to go back to Toronto for my Grandmas showing tonight and funural tomorrow morning. Janet was very abliging and had me sign my waiver and put my wristband on and gave me my race kit, and when I get back tomorrow to call her on her cell so I can get my race chip and swim cap. cool

I met up with Tricat and Scott from the Goldrush page not long after at the hotel counter, but they couldn't check in yet because they didn't ask for early checking in like I did! razz (stick out tongue) but they did manage to get there parking pass. The counter person said they weren't allowd to take there bike up to there room when they check in, being in the main resort building. WTF eek! I said! that's crazy! so with a car load of bikes and luggage I invited them over to my room to store there bikes for the time being. I also asked if they could check my bike for me as I don't think I'll be back in time to do it, and gave them my spare key to my room. Then we went for a swim. The water is freezing!!! I went in without my wetsuit as usual, roll eyes (sarcastic) they opted to use theirs. after the swim we went back to my room to change then they went to take there luggage to the front office to store untill they could check in, and I came home. Now I'm getting ready to go to Toronto. Fun...fun..fun...dance

bt,

I did some looking at satellite pictures and the models which seem to indicate the AUS should be fine on Sunday. It looks like IAH is going to get pounded pretty hard around 2 AM on Saturday but then the storm should turn North and East ending up in South Eastern Missouri by Sunday around noon. I hope that model holds.

It looks like you and Rusty the Randy farmer might be needing to button things up too. Take care of those cattle (Sorry Buzz) and be safe.
